Judaism is full of a variety of religious views, traditions, interpretations and origins, each beautiful and respected in its own way. Jewish weddings, no matter how religious, will always contain some form of tradition. Having a Chuppah, signing a Ketubah, smashing the glass, and so many other traditions, small and large, can add up to a very meaningful and personal wedding experience.
Sam and her family are Ashkenazi Jews, Yishai’s family are Sephardic Persian Jews, and some of their traditions could not be more different. The melding of these two families and their customs made this wedding as distinctive as it could be, and even more beautiful to watch and be a part of.
Yishai and Sam are so easygoing and kind to each other and everyone around them. They are personable and fun, and they spent their time not just welcoming their guests, but entertaining them, in the relaxed and humorous way that they seem to take on life. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of photographing their wedding, and I believe that all of the joy and love between these two comes through in every photo.
