There were so many details and moments of Abby and Miles’ wedding day that made me wonder if I had walked into a fairytale. From the way everything looked, to the absolute magnificence of Abby’s gown, and most importantly- though it may sound cliche- Abby and Miles’ adoration for each other was so blindingly clear, it just seemed like a storybook love! Then there was the venue! Nicotra’s Ballroom, on its own, is an absolutely beautiful location, with gardens and gazebos, and the most wonderful staff. What took it from beautiful to magical, though, was Varda Thurm and her incredible talent with the flowers from Jerusalem Florist. The ceremony room looked and felt like a garden, yet is in a permanent tent. It was decorated with magnificent flowers, and the Chuppah area was made to look like it was in middle of a forest, and it was all put together fresh that day! Varda was a powerhouse all through the day, keeping everything running smoothly and injecting everything with her incredibly creative mind. The entire wedding day, from the very first moment of preparation to the energetic dancing to the DJ at the very end, was an epic proclamation of Abby and Miles’ dedication and love for each other. It was an honor to be there to capture it!
When you drive up to the location of Factory 220, you might wonder what to expect. Outside you may see abandoned buildings, but inside is the most incredibly versatile and convertible space. This was where Batsheva’s Bat Mitzvah was hosted, and boy was the space transformed. Without any changes at all, the beautiful and rustic space at Factory 220 is warm and inviting, begging you to make it your own. With the lighting by Yitzy Wadiche and the decor and flowers by Papaya Events, the space was completely altered into the perfect setting for this epic Bat Mitzvah
Batsheva was so eager to have her portraits taken outdoors, using the unconventional surrounding areas as backgrounds. She was adventurous and excited to see what we could come up with, utilizing the abandoned school building and some huge puddles on the ground. If there was any way to lighten up the groggy weather, Batsheva found it! She was such a joy to photograph, a real bundle of sunshine!
Taking photos of the Rubenstien family was an absolute pleasure. Their love for each other is so clear, and I could not help but notice how close Batsheva is with her parents. It was so special to witness that, and to listen to how they all spoke about each other in the speeches with such admiration. Going from that moment, to watching them dance together- different family members from different generations- was a sight to behold! I couldn't have been more honored to be there, capturing those moments for them.
